Nice to see Sally as a sympathetic character for once and to get a look at her police mindset, rather than her spiteful name-calling mindset. It's easy to forget that she must be good at her job to have made it to DS, because we only ever see her on the show when Sherlock arrives on the scene and makes her and everyone else look like idiots, so it made a change to see her doing her job, remembering her training and the advice she'd been given by her old sergeant.
