It was inspired by the scene with the body in Pink because if Lestrade had known Sherlock for five years there's no *way* he'd have been that surprised about Sherlock's deductions.
So he was obviously putting it on, pushing Sherlock's buttons to get information.
You can really see it at the end where he's asking about the gunman. There's this look on Lestrade's face just like a child who is saying something they know will get a reaction, a sort of poorly hidden delight.
He's pushing the "show coppers how stupid they are" button and it's working!
